Odessey and Oracle

The Zombies

This one of the most lush, beautiful sounding psychadelic albums of the era.  That said, it tends to be a little bit too lush at times…too pretty, and also a bit too romantic/dreary sounding.  These traits hold it back from being a truly great album, but it is undeniably poppy psychadelic ear-candy.  Though not as accomplished/experimental as what the The Beatles had already done by 1968, it is nonetheless unique and affecting in it's own right.  Features one of the best songs of all-time in "Time of the Season".
