Kind of Blue

Miles Davis

1959

Probably Mr. Davis's best old-school, traditional jazz record…hard to beat it.  Dim the lights, pour a glass of wine, cook a mouthwatering meal, and let this album be your soundtrack to a relaxing, warm, and soothing evening.

Bitches Brew

Miles Davis

1970

Acid jazz with live electric instrumentation…it's honestly not as good as it sounds on paper, but, it is very impressive to just set back and listen to.  It's pretty dense, hard to digest at times…but no doubt cool as F.  I'm still trying to figure how to review jazz albums of this caliber/complexity, so forgive me if I'm somewhat at a loss for words.  This is such an organic sound, so free form, and occassionally dramatic sounding, with a vaguely brooding atmosphere to boot.  It's impressive, but admittedly somewhat challenging to fully wrap my head around...but that's a good thing.  It's a groundbreaking classic, whether I can fully absorb it or not.
